Oh! my heartstrings are being pulled here.. I have 2 sons, but they have long left the nest.

we do lament the passing of those young and joyful child years ... when we were their "All" ;) seems to go way too quickly ... but even though rocky at times all those "phases" have great impact on our selves ... we have done our best ... sometimes its enough ..and sometimes not :( if we are lucky ..no one went to jail ...hospital trips were minimal ..no one has been taken ... and as adults ... realizations have been made, we are friends :) your poem really got me thinking and feeling blessed this morning ... my teen age grand daughter is staying the weekend with us .. today among other things we are going for a driving lesson (she has her permit) i am simply grateful!

and thank you Kelly! she did very well .. far more so than i expected ... we drove for about 35 minutes with many turns and turn arounds ... and i agree ..it is not a common thing to have a teen g-daughter or son actually want to spend the weekend .. tonight we are going to a rock concert .. ;) love and peace!
