let’s tell the world

we’ve gone fishing

and set our sails toward

the end of the sky.

 

with utter abandon

my heart is vicariously beating

in haste with yours

as a Sauvignon, pours.

 

oh captain, my captain

can it be i am drowning

in the guise of your charms

in the pools of your eyes.

This is very romantic...and reminds me of what could be a love poem written to Ernest Hemingway...

I wanted a good follow up from, "Song of the Fisherman", something with a strong romantic feel of the water. I love your nod to Hemingway. I've referenced him in other poems I've written. To sail away to the end of the skies is such a tempting thought. I would only hope that the days would be filled with blue skies and not the many shades of dullness it is currently putting up with in these here parts.
To see the sun fill the sky with more than a mere glimpse would be divine, but I do know her ways and she is such a tease at times.
I do wish you calmer waters and fluffy cloud skies for your journey dear author and hope a smile follows in your wake. 😃
