Hi Kelly,
I just stopped by to say hi.
Hope you are doing good.
Hope everything is going well. If we think a positive thought make your day going good then definitely I wish good for you.. stop by to say hi..
Not so much the machine, but the time. Thinking of my dads old 78 Ford Ranger as my laptops fan keeps going on and off like a jet engine like it's going to explode. I get faint whiffs of nostalgia from time to time and it drowns me. I would say this poem is like honey though. Something sweet we drown in willingly.

I loved the old Bel Airs from 55 to 57. The 283 was a good engine but the body styles are classic. I had a 67 Impala fastback once. It was a nice car. I enjoyed reading this sentimental and nostalgic tribute to your mom. Great work.

The first car I ever owned was a used '61 Chevy Impala 4 door hardtop with bronze on bronze paint ... I wa about 19 then.
I wear a ring I got from my father a year or so before he passed away in 1964.
My mother passed on my birthday last year ... she made it to 100.
Keep the memory alive ... it's all we have other than a simple souvenir.
Thanks kelly ... well done.

But to lose your mom on your birthday must have been so hard. I've always believed the best way we can keep our loved ones alive is to remember them. Only when they are forgotten are they truly gone. Thank you, Ted!
Those memories keep her alive for you, Kelly. In a cool sort of way, I can see her behind the wheel of that 57 Chevy, you strapped in, tiny hands clapping to the radio's music.
I have my mom's scarf, a small bottle of her Chanel #5, and the ticket stub to "The Man From La Mancha", she took me to when I was 12. These things as well as many photos, keep her alive for me. For me, how we live our lives, as well as the memories we keep, is the real meaning of life after death.
Kelly, I love this poem. You gave me something special today, reminding me of my mom and the life she gave to me. Thank You!!

All you have to do is close your eyes and take a deep breath, and she's there with you. How beautiful a memory, to conjure her up in such a way. Be sure you keep it away from sunlight for it will evaporate quicker. It's the smallest of things that keep a memory alive. I'm so thrilled you enjoyed this, Curt. Thank you for sharing something so precious!
A good friend of mine had a 1957 Chevrolet. It was a classic for looks and we had many a good time in it. This poem brought that back to me.

I think this poem is a lovely memorial in words. You should chisel it into stone. (or pay someone to anyway, I imagine that would be a pain in the a*s to actually chisel into stone all of these words by hand)

Kelly,
All those things from all those times are like anchors sometimes, keep us here, keep those times alive and our families, too, and friends... and those things we used to do... I remember my best friend and I played in a huge mud pit, and it was one of the great times of my pre-adolescent days... there is no one alive who was there but me. My girlfriend's aunt had a yellow and black convertible '57 Impala... she would take us to town for pizza. Memories are more than what they are made of... thank you for the reminder!
