It’s a beautiful poem Kelly but I wish you had not borrowed so heavily from the Master. He’s my favorite songwriter/poet and you are perhaps my favorite internet poet, and I wish to keep you both pure and separate. By the way, have you seen the movie of the last tribute concert, the one with Nick Cave, and the Wainwrights? I rewatch it every couple of months for a dose of inspiration and ecstasy. MSB

How very chuffed Leonard would be to read your lavishly-creative, gorgeously-laid verses, inspired by his own unique style of brilliance.
Your perfect choice of Papyrus font - spaciously presented, combined with that elegant, sensually posed B/W photo, sets the perfect ambiance for your thrummingly rich lines of smooth flowing captivations to come ⁓ each played in irresistibly venereal, rhythmic enchantment.
"woo me
like a Memphis moon
play me like a cello, tuned
dance me to the end of love." (INDEED!)
Warmed in the effulgent glow of your femininely poetic radiance, I feel so completely, so warmly -- "embraced."
Thank you ever-so gratefully for treating us to another of your incomparably lovely originals … hugs, Kelly! ⁓ Richard🖌

The WC is being selective these days, as to who it accommodates access to. So thrilled this one got through. Thank you for persevering through the madness! x

I have had a most joyous association with the words and music of Leonard Cohen from 1968 unto the present. He has been a major influence in my writng and a sombre guide to whatever constitutes Love ... in all it's guises.
The song from which the title came is one of his best. I especially like the violin in this one.
Your words come across much as Cohen would write them ... soft and fluid with enough mystery to make us think.
Wekk done Kelly

He was a master genius and it was a privilege to honor him. Thank you, Ted!
When Mr. LNC last wrote to me in mid 2012 (he was still mid tour) he mentioned how even after so many years, he still got a kick out of folk referencing him (my term) .. I know for a fact he will be beaming when he sees your version .. Every bit as good as I knew it would be Kelly .. Now I just got to stop my foot from tapping .. Ink perfectly spilt as always .. One of your biggest fans .. little old ME 😎🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶👍
Wonderful use of the instruments to play out this metaphor.

The title was the perfect metaphor to compose a poem to. It ran circles in my head until I got it down on paper. What a genius that man was. Thanks so much, J!
big SIGH Kelly. It's a great Cohen song, but I think your poem lights it to the sky. I like that reference to a "Memphis Moon". "Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin."
While most see this as a "love song", it has a dual nature, passion and the end (death and/or love) and it was inspired by the way classical music often played as The Jews were sent to the concentration camps and then into the gas chambers. Cohen was a genius in his music and poetry and this song is one of his most passionate.
I love your poem Kelly, you had me find the song and dance... wanna join me?? ;0)

How I would love to dance to it! Thank you so much, Curt!
