my soul is wintering,

seeking refuge

from unhurried days

in the turning of pages

of a Hemingway novel,

finding solitude and calm

in the slow revolutions

of a spoon

frequently stirred

in a cup

of tomato with basil.

Tomato with basil, brought to a certain heat. Yes, a nice way to spend a winter afternoon. I would prefer Eckhart Tolle, though.
