NatureA Poem by Kate
Two birds
On a willow twig Were singing What they witnessed underneath Their folded wings and potbellies Full of worms Unearthed from dirt Perched on a branch They might have been A husband and a wife Or just two mates Chirping away Over a beakfull of hay Their squat bodies Like black beads Around a pale wrist Posed for a painting Of silhouettes So outstanding Merging into A cloudless evening Stopping my breath For more than a sec Lingering in my head As a poetic amulet Making me deferential To sublime nature © 2024 KateReviews
