Because I don't want to freak you out

So I'll plaster on a smile

And tell you I'm just fine

To make you feel warm and fuzzy

So you don't have to go through me

My only friend, help me

See through me

Because I can't talk

I can't breathe

I really like this, mainly because I think everyone has been in this situation. Even if they do not want to admit it. It conveys the emotion really well, like good poetry should.

This is well written. I know how it feels to not be capable of saying what you feel and wanting someone to see right through you...pull you in their arms and tell you that everything will be alright.
