Let Me Go

 

I know that with every moment that passes I am one step closer to death

A comfort that I hold through the long lonely nights

The nights that remind me that I’m human

That remind me of the anger she makes me feel

 

Although I pray for the past to go it holds me tight

Dragging me down – I’m almost taking my life

There’s a ghost hiding behind these eyes – the empty shell of a person, destroyed by truth

and honesty

The ghost I am who haunts this body until the day it does pass

 

Ever breath, every movement, every tear

My body cries out in pain from the abuse I give it

The abuse that I bring to make it die

To force it to release me – to release me to the sky
