Shadows that will never come true

I keep walking forward but I don’t know

What have I got to do to make me feel

What have I got to do to keep you real

 

Lay me down on this bed of needles

I don’t know which way to dream

I can’t fit into my skin

I know it hurts, don’t break the seams

 

Take my hand and follow through

Where can I go when I’m alone

Keeping alive the thoughts of you

What can I do to stop the reel

 

Metallic throbbing in my head

I don’t know how to make it real

The dreaming every night of things unsaid

A nightmare that can set my mind free
