A Cutter's Lullaby

A poem I wrote..

Sit back, and close your eyes,
Drop the blade,
Such a sweet disguise..

It’s the pain that keeps
You going,
It keeps you alive,
It masked the pain,
You feel so deep inside…

You watch the crimson
Pour from your arm,
And tears fill you with
Alarm.

What do I do?
How do I fix this?

See the that’s the thing
With self-harm,
You think your controlling it,
But before long,
It takes control over you.

But now I’ve
Gathered up my
Strength,
And I’m back in control.

I’ll battled my demons,
Slipped out of every noose,
And now there’s nothing
You can use.

Nothing you can hurt me
With,
So get out of my way,
I don’t need you.

It’s about strength,
Focus,
And staying determined,

This is a really deep poem, and very emotional. I'm sure many people can relate to this poem, self-harm is a problem many people seem to have nowadays. This is awesome, keep writing. :)
