this was my favorite part. Someone once said, "The right wing and the left wing are part of the same bird." I feel like we have forgotten that.

No party is free of fault, and we are becoming so deeply estranged, although it feel the respect for laws and constitution is fading and if we dont come together that will be lost.

This is going beyond sides now. This is something far more nefarious We can choose to unite in our differences or lose our freedoms and our country.

Things do seem dark at the moment. We need to remember how to listen to each other and have differences of opinion again. It wouldn’t solve our problems of course but we’d have fewer easily avoidable tragedies. It seems to be the state of the world in general these days but definitely magnified around here.

The division that has been created with false media and spinning of stories has fostered this division and then events occurring just gave it the ignition it needed to implode. Our hope is all coming together to fight for a common cause.

I get it. You expressed yourself well in this and got your point across through rhyme. The country is not in good shape. The sixties and seventies had their upheaval too but this is a different vibe. There are people out there supposedly protesting although it looks more like rage and harassment from morons. This isn't a quick weekend fix. We're too divided now. We'll see where it goes. Nice writing.

The only way we can stop the division is learning to connect on things beyond values and to be a well informed populous that can unite together. Each era has faced its own crisis's but this one feels so much larger than even us. Thanks for your reflections.

I respect that you feel that way, but the things I am watching and reading suggest this isn’t going to be a simple fix. As someone who spent my life being the optimist, surrounded by people who couldn’t find the silver lining, I too am losing the silver lining. Far too much can change in three years. This isn’t negative; it’s realistic.
