Shadows at the Bedside

This poem is written about Depression

Suffocate my motivation,

Tears steeped in resignation.

Darkness drowns me ever deep,

Shadows haunt my restless sleep.

Sorrow settles in my bones,

While my body creaks and groans.

Heart and soul long relinquished;

A spark for life �" cold and extinguished.

My sense of worth has slipped away,

Views on life turned dim and grey.

Self-esteem adrift at sea,

The voice of death drowning me.

Depression lingers near my bed,

Her poison voice inside my head.

Each night I hear her whisper, crawl�"

And with each breath, I start to fall.
