False Balance

False Balance

A Poem by Mysilentembrace

You sit on your fence
Claiming each side’s extreme
Gawking at recompense
While existing in a dream.

Don’t lose your balance
When the tear gas flies
I’d hate for you to fall
On the side that dies.

The fault in your morals
Is they submit to oppression
Dismiss your constitution
Kneel to aggression.

Fear becomes the playground
For division of each side
Unity must be the battleground
Where rights refuse to be denied
