Thorns of Truth

Thorns of Truth

A Poem by Mysilentembrace

For so long, I allowed my voice to be pruned and thinned,

but I’ve come to learn,
I never blossomed for peony gardens,
where beauty is chosen over truth.

I bloomed as a crown of thorns,
exposing the rot, refusing to look away

catching light on open wounds,
my voice giving shape
to the lie buried beneath the surface.

This reads like an empowering statement to me.

You can feel the emotions in this poem....someone standing up for their own "truth"

I liked these lines:

I bloomed as a crown of thorns,
exposing the rot, refusing to look away
catching light on open wounds,
