The Shape of Love

The Shape of Love

A Poem by Nadia

Love is a quiet breath against the windowpane,

a murmur that lingers in the folds of a forgotten scarf.

It is the weight of a hand resting on yours,

the pause between heartbeats when silence speaks louder than words.

Romance is the memory of your name,

etched in the soft places where shadows refuse to dwell.

It is the way your gaze reshapes the horizon,

turning the ordinary into something sacred.

Neither bound by rhyme nor measure,

love unfolds as a map of endless constellations,

each star a moment, each path leading to you.

Your two opening lines say all that is needed. The rest merely add some weight that fills the whole thing out nicely. I wish I could write like this. You do this with a quill and ink from your veins. I'm more of a hatchet man, chopping my words into submission until they obey or else. Nicely done.

Love is ....a quiet breath......

I loved this tenderly expressed poem about the delight of finding love with another.....:)

You do well to get across the depth of feeling that love invokes in each of us.....turning the daily into the magnificent....

Thanks for sharing this poem....

Feel free to stop by and check out one of my poems....

There is so much beauty in the way you invoked the imagery here. I can see every visual within the journey you've created. I love the way it makes me feel, like I can float right there with you. Well done!

Ordinarily I don't review romance poems because most of them end up sounding alike. The wording and imagery in this one, however, are too good to dismiss: "Love is a quiet breath against the windowpane" Such language creates a picture that the reader's mind latches onto. This offering is full of such jewels. Very well done.
