It's been a good long while now
And I still long to hear your voice
The scent of you still lingers
Sadly, I didn't have much of a choice.

But this is an ode to you,
My love
Written whilst my heart cries out
This is an ode to you,
My dear
I wish I understood what your heart was about.

Step by step I am taking
I am taking all of my time
Even though my heart is still broken
It is beating with this rhyme.
