Shatter

Shatter

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

Crying tears all too familiar.

The hurt you hand me.

The pain you feed me.

The lies you insist upon me.

Killing me a little each moment.

Breaking me a little each day.

The absence you persist.

The cold you ignore.

I fear you introduce.

Killing me each moment.

Breaking me each day.

The dreams to take.

The promises you remove.

The spirit you shatter.

Killed me this moment.

Broke me today.

I was really feeling this piece although was thrown off a bit on this line,"I fear you introduce." Did you mean "the fear you introduce?" I also did'nt think that the period at the end of each line was necessary. This does not by any means affect my opinion of your piece. I Know this emotion very well , as do many others i'm sure. Thats why I liked it so much.

The pain you feed me.

The lies you insist upon me.

Killing me a little each moment.

among others, These lines stood out to me . Really good work.

Yes, i can relate... sadly so. this is a great writing, it is subtle, yet very powerful. i think you have captured the basic feelings of loss and hurt that a person like this brings to your life.

People should be able to keep their promises and treat their loved ones with respect and cherishment; or not be around at all!

Also Mysty Rayn, thank you for reviewing my poem "cold wet dollops"... i appreciate it greatly :)

Best to get yourself away from a person that hurts you in this manner. Survival and mental well-being are the most important things. Well written poem, I'm sure people will be able to relate very well.
