Mirror

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

This morning I woke up and looked in the mirror at who I had become.

I did not know the face looking back anymore.

She looked tired and afraid.

A child as a woman.

Where had I gone?

My eyes dark as the sky before a storm.

My frown a reminder of my worrisome heart.

My face but a mystery.

My hair draped like a veil concealing my secrets.

Lost in the image, turning to confusion.

When did I let go?

I turn on the shower.

This makes me sad and concerned.

Your writing is vivid and powerful. Evokes emotions well, even though they are sad emotions.

Self reflection induced by your own reflection. This is a thoughtful write with a not so expected ending.
I enjoyed the way of your words and the honest lines.. the emotion tagged on with all of vivid discription of her physical state.

Interesting ink.. ;p
