fifty-six

fifty-six

A Poem by ɴᴏɪʀ ネス
"

alone with the rest of life

"
at the pier
a troubled shadow hiding beneath its cloak rasped
i stood alongside
watching the tide seethe and roar
cleansing our somber bodies of the looming darkness
i hear footsteps behind me
they sound…
remorseful
facing the confinement was my only objective
before the railing saw it upturned

You are quite the wordsmith aren't you?

I like how you use the word rasped. I think the only other time I've seen it was in a game of scrabble.
