Brownish orange muddying the untouched fabric and then it’s his first step into the clearing. You’d think the sharp edge would numb those legs after the relentless branding. It took only a moment after gazing at the obsidian sky did he realize that this was home. Each thud carrying the unexpressed wrath from his failure. Every beat aching along the grounds hum. But there was gratitude in his sorrowful act. When the hollow whistling reached its audible end and the grip on the turn released the tension. INSTANTly, a barreling thunder bolted into his arms, toppling the two and escaping from under the ragged coat of the canine was a ragged laugh. Olms. The only peace he could ever find in a companion. Well, at least since him.
