PoeA Poem by Mjr. TomI was thinking about Edgar A. Poe's lifeOld, poor, crazy Poe Your life seemed so tragic Filled with sorrow and economic woe But your words, they were of magic Went deep into the crazy mind Your words and writing Were of a different kind Your work was lighting The mysteries of insanity As you dealt with pain That slowly destroyed your sanity The doubt and everlasting shame Of the angelic loves They cared for you, and gave you life They were that of angelic doves But with each of their death, caused you strife Throwing you into madness With each red demise Filling your soul with sadness Until your spirit began to die Then walking dead, you tread Looking for another miss Each day filling with dread Finally you felt lifeless And you die The world remembering Your sad demise.
