Door Left Ajar

Door Left Ajar

A Poem by Nayyab Younas Khan

Door Left Ajar

Lost in the realm of what is and what is not
Fire burning inside of one is bit cold, not wholly hot

That door one saw in the darkness left ajar
Walking towards its Light despite the inner war

This world is cursed, it sucks the purity of man
Or man is hasty, ignorant, not surrendering to Nature's plan

Mind was to be used as an organ, a tool
Then what one did, let it completely rule

We were the listeners of the heart, the throne of God
Then we abandoned it and ended up being flawed

Why wander, remain rebellious, how long are we to fight?
The door's left ajar why not we embrace the Light?
