A Little Refugee's Heart

From the ailing heart and soul,
a child of a refugee told

I once had a home of my own,
I felt safe in the skin on my bones

Then everything I ever knew
came to pieces, I lost all my view
of the childhood I could have had

I wondered how the world was still the same
while I fell into fate's twisted game?

I lost my tears to a single thought
To the world, I mattered not

I wonder when will they open their eyes,
Maybe when they will feel like me, lost and guised

Maybe they will realize someday, if not soon,
We are not different but all are ruined

The joy of one will rejuvenate us all
The pain of one will hurt us all [1].

full of melancholy and simpatico you show the plight of so many refugees around the world who go unnoticed, yet their feelings and desires are as great as our own….they are real and they are raw and they are unique to each one of them…. i love how you created this portrayal ….. it is is sincere and real…Bravo!
