Let's Play a Game Together

Let's Play a Game Together

A Poem by Kiwi

Written for BCD '06.

I wrote this as a random piece to be cute.  I kept gender from being mentioned, but I always get a very feminine feel from the poem.  Wonder how you interpret it!  Still, I thought it was a cute story of kids growing up and their changing relationship.

Let’s play a game together.

I say jump and you say

“How high?”

The ground you push away

To soar towards the sky,

And leave me a speck in the grass.

Let’s play a game together.

I say hide and you say

“For how long?”

You hide in the flowers of May

And hum a summery song,

As I rummage through locks of Earth’s hair.

Let’s play a game together.

I say run and you say

“How far?”

You halt at the beds of ruby clay

And admire your dash to afar

As I follow your tracks in the mud.

Let’s play a game together.

I say, “Kiss me” and you say

“How hard?”

You think it’s an exciting game to play

And let fall all your guard,

While your face inches closer to mine.
