To Bloom

To Bloom

A Poem by Nandawula Regine Kabali-Kagwa
"

This piece delicately highlights the beauty of transformation ♥️.

"
From a girl to a woman
The transition is intricately paced
It's perceived to look like a dark, raggedy mountain
Full of overcast clouds and horror

But in fact, every step we take plants a seed
That will bear flowerbeds so luscious and beautiful
That, when we look back at our journey
All we'll see is spring fields of triumph
Instead of cold hard rock, sedimented over time

The trek forward is a wild one though
Its not linear, there's no foot path or map
We squint our eyes harder, trying to see into the beyond
We try to pace ourselves faster because maybe...
If the trip's time span shortens... It'll make sense

Well, surprise surprise

The map is blank and our footprints lead
Our intuition guides while our hearts navigate
Until we realize that... It's our very own eyes
That vividly draws how the destination appears

When we take a pause from walking and we leap
Into the Beyond, into our future selves
Into our "Successful era", the pathway becomes prominent
The map suddenly has a voice to say,
"Turn left, into the Growth & Upskilling" complex

Our purpose surpasses societal norms
We are Powerhouses with countless specialities in
Womanhood, love, business, wealth, family...
There's many levels to a Woman far greater than skyscrapers and atmospheric heights

This world tirelessly works to gather us all just
To squish us into an airtight bubble that's pungent
In fear, lack of safety, propaganda, expectations
On grounds built on limitations and small minds

Fortunately, that bubble is the size of dust and
With the receptivity of our worth and superiority
We are able to sturdily step on that bubble and
Let it sink into the mountain along with our seeds

Treading deep into our very own stratosphere of
Free will, unlimited choices, abundance and the confidence to say with our chest that...
"I Did That"

Such finely laid words, phrases that shadow our past, or - subling to the now, or cultivating that 'sinking into the mountain along with our seeds. Throughout you share thoughts, specifics and hopes, leaving this reader wanting to come back, read again, then going off and away with a new thought wanting to blossom into those three final words.

A wonderful tale of growing up into womanhood...and how we best make the stride... everyone is different, but we all try to do our best on our own paths...we may stumble, but we forge ahead...making headway at every turn...sometimes we have to push back as there are roadblocks.... but we do and eventually we are a success....love your words, perfect for this tale....

Wow. Just wow. This was a beautifully written piece that evoked imagery. There were so many metaphors that I loved that it was hard to pick a favorite throughout this entire poem.

Thank you so much 😊😊I love using metaphors

(My favorite part, here.)

As I, myself, become a young woman, or moreso a young adult, I think this is something worth hearing. I've always been one to hate injustice, although in a much more childish way when I was younger, but. . I think this poem manages to remind me that just because something is wrong doesn't mean you can't overcome it.

This was simply fabulous. Young woman could certainly use this advice to be read over-and-over again. Thank you for sharing your writing.
