Myth of the Laughing Universe

Myth of the Laughing Universe

A Poem by Nao Deguchi

There is one prayer

Caught in the hearts

Of every echoed soul-in-forms

I can hear it in the

Lamb’s innocent call

Shepherd of old

In the youth of all-times

In the old eyes

Where the sun’s descent

Was marked by

The merry bells rung

A hundred welcoming springs

The sky that sung louder

Than all the words

The beauty that outlasted

The little blackest day

There is one prayer

Alive in the soul perennial

In the golden tent

With the temporary delights

In the confessioned merging

Of yesterday with today

In the final account

Of the past left unflinching

Into threads and shards

Of a future that was once

Pure chance & probability

There is one prayer

That is mathematically correct

It is a physics of the natural

A cradle of change

Near the bosom of each moment

It begins, lives and dies

Simultaneously, like

The cry of God

After he was disproved.

About
I will go to great lengths to encourage writers of Asian origin. Of these, Indian are my favorite. They have a beauty of sentiment that is not replicated in english. I do not like to leave a trace.. more..
