“Wi-Fi Warriors & Couch Commanders” 🎮A Poem by Neha agrawalA poem about modern teens with a dash of humor and a pinch of heartbreak
They rise at noon with zombie eyes,
Mouths agape from midnight fries. A phone in hand, the other too, Scrolling like it’s all they do. Their anthem? Beep of Insta likes, Snapchat streaks and Fortnite fights. Homework sleeps beneath the bed, While TikTok jingles in their head. “Get a job?” they muzzle and yawn, “Adulting? Gross. That’s for dawn.” Dream careers on Pinterest boards, Reality? “That sounds absurd.” They fight for things they never need, New shoes, new phone, some gaming feed. “Dad, this phone’s from 2020!” “Son, your grades are barely twenty.” Mom cooks meals with heart and spice, They trade it all for extra rice" From Zomato. “Mom, don’t stress, I just want fries. I’m not depressed.” They slam the doors, they roll their eyes, Make drama fit for Emmy prize. And in between their Netflix binges, Ignore the love that never cringes. While parents age in silent sighs, Their hearts break under teenage lies. “Why can’t you see the love I give?” “I just want you to truly live.” Yet deep inside that moody mess, Is still a kid in quiet distress. Who sometimes cries behind closed doors, Wishing life had fewer wars. So teens, dear teens " just take a pause, Step back from screens, reflect, because Those nags and shouts you often hate, Are just love... running a bit late. © 2025 Neha agrawalReviews
