Popcorn Over Plot

“Popcorn Over Plot” mixes humor and nostalgia to point out how storytelling has been overshadowed by CGI, clichés, and chaos. This leaves popcorn as the only genuine element of the show.

“Don’t miss the start!” my uncle shouts.
“Back in the ‘90s, stories had soul, not likes!” Love took time, and trains were chased.
They weren’t just one-night stands in a bunch of jump cuts.

Now you blink, and it’s already halfway done.
The plot’s gone, but the trailer looked fun.
They sell us glitz without any real feeling, expecting applause as if that’s art.

Popcorn is now the star, steady and true.
It doesn’t pretend or do martial arts.
Unlike our hero,
who spins in the air and flips a jeep like he doesn’t care.

Physics? Forget it. Logic? What’s that?
The villain flew to Nepal on a barbeque.
Critics sip wine and declare with flair,
“Such raw emotion! You just don’t care.”

Vulgar is now “bold,” and sleaze is “brave.”
They chop up stories and sell what’s safe.
A nude here, a six-pack there,
but who cares why it matters?

And horror? Where do I even start?
It’s just fart jokes wrapped in a ghostly grin.
Wigs from hell and jump scares fall flat.
One ghost yelled “boo” and belly-flopped.

But sometimes, in this chaotic mess,
a real film lands, and we feel blessed.
No item girl, no flying kicks. Just pain, an actual plot, and characters that stick.

Then Twitter screams, “Now this is fire!”
From the same folks who promoted the empire of junk they hyped with every post.
Now suddenly, they care the most?

They sold us trash, and we waited in line.
We left the theater dazed, not moved, just stuck. Now they preach with poetic ease after years of CGI in our faces.

So here’s to popcorn " warm, honest, and loud. It’s the only truth in this sold-out crowd.
It never pretends, and it doesn’t fake.
It won’t do flips on a frozen lake.

Until they give us heart, not hype,
we’ll munch our snacks and roll our eyes. Cinema’s lost " but snacks survive,
and maybe that’s why we’re still alive.

Author's Note

A few days ago, I went to watch a movie. While I was in line to buy popcorn, I had a funny thought. Maybe the popcorn is the real star these days. Many people arrived late, and some even left early because the movie just didn’t catch their interest. But no one forgot to finish their popcorn. They were bored by the film but completely focused on the snack! That's where the idea of writing came from.

Why do you think fighting with weapons wrong, if you see epic storiesahabharath lord krishna guided arjun to fight not till you make them right. Sometimes waging war, is a way too. Hi,

Your writings shows pain and how let it out your sorrow in beautiful imagination. You try to balance.

But in love you wish good for your lover. but few think hurting is fine. After all anybody loves and hopes good., you are hurting the person and say you are loving when there is no love what is that you are doing.

Misinterpretation and covering their mistakes and then say guilty. Are you having a heart to giv to others.

I see everyone is in plot of life. But few people engage so much that they think this plot is real and exploit the life of others totally in realm. But they don't understand fate is alive like popcorn that says after finishing it atleast I had filled my stomach. You were in line, and ate completely. The pop corn.


Writes you do are like vedas when you think good you will get right intent else vice versa getting bad if you were bad.

People satisfy by overriding intent makes themselves enjoyed.

Nobody writes and he never write to impress but show the feelings he had.

You don't need to worry what is going to happen after death but it is important what you do in this short life.

I am with my family and never make him drown.

The king must be right jow you will balance beyond death. Do whatever it is the good. I thought you hav known why dad like that stepping away from bad rebuilt empire to only make his dad proud. Is it not that he got caught, he doesn't know when someone said, untill then he thought he was doing right, but his dad love made him right. Appa is watching and made last trial calling me to his company. He was there I maybe not away from office today. He understood me, for my sisterinlaw did couldn't control if it was him controlling company it would hav not happened I know him he would hav not lost me.

What you are enjoying is the result of past deeds in previous life. What you are not getting thinking why if you think, whether you are right or wrong. Even if you don't get what you are expecting it is also the result of current deeds. So be kind and right.

I only tell my family do right not bad under cunning influencer.

This life is short if you think who knows what is or will be in future, or next life. Think of epics are real stories happened on this earth, like birth of god, dwaraka, if you don't want to go beyond that then, freedom struggle with non violence, jhansi rani with first revolt 1857, against Britishers .

So be worried about your deeds. How Good has won over evil. Destruction of Mughal empire, Britishers stepping away.
People talk about haindava sastram but following west culture dating wearing nude.

Just believe in yourself nobody is better guard than yourself for yourself.

Even lord krishna couldn't get what he likes more, he was born in jail, away from real arents, lost her true love radha with a long distance relationship, was also killed by not good death.

He performed his deeds never hailed he is God. The bird crow and kokila difference, crow shouts I am there but kokila sings so sweet only during early mornings a wakeup call with sweet sound.

I love your poem, it is spot on. I am a movie addict; I typically watch four or five a week. I will start to watch many more, realize after ten or 15 minutes they are complete trash, discontinue and try the next one. A friend and I email each other capsule reviews of our finds we feel worth watching. Occasionally we meet up to watch a movie in a theater, have done this for thirty years, and yep! You must have thought and found self astounded at the truth of what you've written, every aspect of your words on poin! These days most folk want X % value when they go out, especially to theatre or more so movies...people want it all, not merely the show but the etceteras whether noisy, expensive or what.
