Bridal Shower

Bridal Shower

A Poem by Neha agrawal
"

(A tribute to the bride and a beautiful tradition newly discovered)

"
Today I learned a phrase that felt fresh,
A world of joy in just a few words.
Bridal shower, what a name;
Now, my heart feels different.

My aunt on my mom’s side, we call her ‘Mami’,
Her daughter-in-law was the star today.
In pastel drapes and jasmine scent,
She glowed like every dream fulfilled.

With laughter, games, and sweet songs,
Old friends and cousins took their seats.
The atmosphere was soft, the mood shining,
A celebration for everyone, young and old.

Not just a party or a show,
But a shower of love in a lovely way.
With whispered blessings and lasting smiles,
Before her life begins a new chapter.

I stood there quietly, a bit shy,
But happiness sparked something deep inside.
Now I see it’s more than just a trend;
It’s where old and new traditions come together.

So here’s to the bride, her smile, her new journey,
With mami’s love and all our hearts.
A day of petals, warmth, and light"
And memories woven in sweet delight.

Yesterday, I attended a bridal shower for the first time.
It was also the first time I ever heard that term and I got to experience it firsthand.

This term is also new for me but I could almost see the pastel drapes and smell the jasmine. Enjoyed reading it.
