The Ocean Roars

The Ocean Roars

A Poem by Neha agrawal
"

A poem about love lost, the ache of waiting, and the beauty of a return. where the ocean carries every unspoken word back to the shore of a second chance.

"
The sea yells and so did I,
When you left, no bye.
Each wave that hit the shore
Was like you, gone more and more.

The wind would play with my hair,
Yet not say if you'd care.
And there I stood where we once kissed,
Thinking of times and all I missed.

I spoke to the sea about my pain,
Of hopes we bent but didn’t snap.
I wrote your name on sea's foam,
And thought of water as almost home.

But storms go,skies turn clear,
And hearts heal when they stay near.
One night, as moonlight shone,
You showed up silent, alone.

Your eyes sparkled, wet like sea mist,
Like you'd cried, the old twist.
No need for “sorry,” no talk of blame,
The sea yelled and we did the same.

Not lost now, not in two,
Together new, our love true.
Now the sea that saw our tears
Just sings, yells... sings in my ears.

Author's Note

Neha agrawal
This poem came to life in the still, small gaps where love used to be, where want rang out more than words, and where hope sat silent by the water.
I penned it for all who have ever breathed out a name to the breeze, or heard the sea as if it could speak back.
Let it show you that even after the hardest rain, love can come back gentle, out of the blue, like a wave that always remembers the shore it adored.

Hiii Nehhaaa,

What a beautiful poem about long lost love and being reunited. My immediate thoughts was of solideds going off to war and their wives waiting for them, longing for their safety but some becoming widows.

I'm glad in this case the love was reunited. A very hopeful poemm. Thanks for sharing Nehhaa!! 🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰

Your welcome Nehaa🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰
Love can come back is the message of this one, and the word "can" implies that it's no guarantee. The speaker, though, never lost faith and never stopped desiring a reunion, and behold, it was so. I tend to think that somehow, attitude can pave the way for such success.

Oh, Neha! 🌿

So irresistibly charming, the ardent sea, that calls our lovers into her adventurous embrace.
How many, I wonder, have stood longingly on the shore, gazing hopefully at the horizon -- far beyond her ever-beckoning, rhythmic waves for site of their returning lover's sails?

Your deft poetic usage of vivid imagery, captivating metaphor, deep poetic voice, and emotive power speak to our hearts and souls in ways we're virtually pulled into your wondrously-laid moments, that dance so eloquently upon the page.

Beautifully whispered, Dear Poetess, into this wandering seaman's ear,
who understands so very well.
Thank you ever-so warmly for the pleasure! ⁓ Richard⚓

One wee thought that struck my eye for flow in V1 L4: 🤓

Hugs 'n flowers,
with smiles for hours.✨
We live by the sea (Irish Sea) and travelled across it several times
But never said Good Bye
Good bye yes _ following holydays and stood on the bow of the boat
watching the foam from the engines leaving a trail - of many memories

Thinking that the foam was memories being passed through the water across the world to family long moved to live on the opposite side of the world (Winter there now)
They left us driving away in an hire car to an airport

The foam trailing behind like a ribbon of memories, quietly reaching loved ones far away.
I really like the metaphorical use of the waves and sea you've shared. Love can be as strong if its bond is timeless. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you🙏
After the storm, comes the calm. Watching and feeling the moods of the sea, is so relatable. In tune with our own emotions. Many wish for second chances. Some are granted, others not. Lovely stanzas Neha, so thoughtfully composed.

Beautiful!

I can literally see your story playing in mind. So well written!

The phrases "Eyes sparkled, wet like a sea mist and no need for sorry" are so lively.
It is a moment to die for!

Glad that you are happy now!
