Summer's Lie

Summer's Lie

A Poem by Neha agrawal

Under summer's light,
the flower blooms,
life wakes up from the dust,
Towords it's first dawn.

It bends,
it changes,
makes a new turn
a new chapter to unfold
under the sun's warm touch.

But that is not true.

Life is a lie
we hold in our hands,
a tale we tell
until the pages
burn to ash.

Always a pleasure!
Warmly, B
A delicate beginning turns sharply to disillusionment—contrasting hope with inevitable decay. Brief, lyrical, and quietly haunting in its existential turn.

The transitory thing we call life an illusion. It makes one wonder what is real. A lovely poem with such deep meaning

You are most welcome
I really like how this poem starts with something bright and full of hope, then suddenly changes to a darker truth. The way it goes from a flower blooming in the sun to everything turning to ash feels powerful and real. It’s simple but a bit scary when it gets to the last line! Gasp!

Feeling the dark lingerings of the light... the aching shadows left behind... the marking of the ash on our souls. I can understand... can feel these lies of life. You speak their nature into us all so deeply. ☀️

Summer may be a liar but she's not all bad .. She's pretty cool around these here parts .. and you have just allowed a touch of autumn to shine through and make my mid day golden .. Neville
