Defeat...?

My heart has been worn down

Until it barely beat

If I decided to give up on you now

Would that mean defeat?

The many months I've wanted you

Tried to hold on,

The whole time I knew

It could never work

But I pushed my doubt

To the back of my mind

And kept thinking to my self 

"He WILL be mine"

If I give up now
