This town used to be so subdued,

it has now become frightening.

Before my very eyes,

life has changed.

So have I because of this.

Why must people be

brusque and disparaging these days?

We have lost all hope,

all trust,

some even all joy.

Our objective is to live peacefully,

but our flippant actions say otherwise.
