Chapter 1: Basement EncountersA Chapter by VanessaChapter 1
***Nathan's POV*** It's easy to say that you're going to do something, but when the time comes you just back out. That's what happened to me. I was ready to do it, to confess, but I backed out. It all started two weeks ago at the last summer party before school started. It would have been better if I just did it there, but I didn't have the guts.
-----------------2 weeks earlier---------------- "Oh Nathan, I know you're in there," I heard Stacy say, "Well if you're not going to come out at least let me in so we can have some fun." God this girl was driving me insane, unbelievable. I had locked myself in a room praying she wouldn't find me but it didn't work. I had been in there at least an hour. Ever since I had asked her out I had regretted it. Of course she was hot, but that was it. There was nothing else to her. She was annoying and very clingy. What the hell was I thinking when I asked her out. I covered my head with a pillow to block out the sound of her voice and the music they had blazed up in the living room. It was one hell of a party and I was missing it. I finally heard her sigh and walk away, but just in case I waited an extra ten minutes to make sure she was really gone. I opened the door and walked back out into the party. My best friend Chris was the guy throwing this party. He'd done it every year since we were in Jr. High, and this was the last one because now we we're seniors. The only thing that I hated about Chris' parties was that throughout the entire party there was no way of knowing where the hell Chris was. I looked around the house but there was no sign of him anywhere. I reached the kitchen and saw the basement door was open. I decided to go down and check if anyone was there. When I reached the bottom of the stairs I didn't see anyone. I was heading up when I heard someone say, "Hey, wait up." I turned my head around to see who'd said that. I found myself looking at a guy around my age, maybe a bit older. He was around six feet, had short black hair, and a muscular body. All in all, I thought, he looked pretty hot. I snapped back into my head again, Whoa! Did I just think of this guy as Hot?! "Hey," he said again, "I'm Daniel."
***Daniel's POV*** I'd been down in the basement since I had arrived. What the hell was the point of coming if I didn't want to be there? I didn't even know more than half the people there. But as always my brother Dennis thought it'd be the perfect way for me to meet some girls. He's my brother and all but he is simply clueless. I tell him I'm gay and he doesn't believe me, then he tries to push girls on me. I guess he just doesn't want to live with the fact that his brother is gay. So while he's out there entertaining the girls, like he always does, here I am all alone in a freaking basement. Well at least I find a couch to sit on. Just as I'm about to take a seat I hear noise coming from the stairs. I get up quickly and hide behind a bookshelf in the corner. I see a guy coming down. It's hard to see because of the lighting but from what I can tell he looks cute. He has golden brown hair, defined and well fit body and the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen. As I see him start to leave I can't help myself, I move out from behind the shelf and say, "Hey, wait up." I cover my mouth quickly but it's too late. I lower my hands and smile as I see him turn around. Yes, he definitely has the best eyes I've ever seen. "Hey," I say as I look into them, "I'm Daniel." © 2012 Vanessa |
