What a Way to Say Goodbye

What a Way to Say Goodbye

A Poem by Neville

What a Way to Say Goodbye

She came from the east

Wearing only her silk gown and a geisha smile

…..

I asked her name

So long she said

….

Yes it seems like ages

I replied

Then she was gone

Wearing only her silk gown and a geisha smile

..

Gone west

.

Lovely stuff, Nev!- Contains that ingredient of mystery that I need in poetry. Earlier this week, I saw the shining thin of a crescent moon keeping the company of a bright and lucid Venus- they came from the East-heliacal and resplendent- then faded West.
I had forgotten the skies of Winter- it seemed ages since I saw them last.
Your words fit the moment like much needed gloves in the early hours of December mornings.
Very well done , Sir!!!

LOL.... ..
Unrequited love always stings. Simple, pure, and leaving that little hint of a smile under the pain

A fleeting moment, which made me smile and one that you have captured forever in words. Lovely Neville.

dear Neville... so many stories from the Wild West had Ladies wearing a Silk dress and a Geisha smile... more relaxing to watch Westerns rather than the News of politics and world events. Your poem is a Classic. Truly, Pat

These fascinate. Elusive, esoteric and very, very beautifully written.
