I Have No More Words

I Have No More Words

A Poem by Neville
"

We have all been there................

"

I Have No More Words

I have no more words

The poet cried

There is nowhere left

For me to run or hide

I have no more words

The poet sighed

It was my love for words

That got me crucified

I have no more words

To write or say

I have no more time

For work or play

I have no more words

It’s safe to say

I have no more words

To give away

Tho reader pray take note

Those famous last words were

Not spoken at all but got

Caught in the well of his throat

Just like a fish bone

Stuck in the palate

While the voyeurs

All queued up to gloat

I love the way your poem goes from a series of earnest pleading to finish with a burst of your irreverent humor . . . fish bone indeed! *wink! wink!* I don’t get writer’s block per se, but I definitely know the feeling expressed in your repeated title line. For me, the world’s tragedies make me mute & unable to write anything worthwhile. That’s why I scribble five rhyming stanzas about a mystery frog t**d. I’m hiding from my inability to find the words to address the urgency all around us. I don’t think you’ve ever had writer’s block, either, you prolific fool! (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Good morning dear Neville. All poets go through a dry spell. It happens quite frequently to me. And your beautiful words will return after your muse gets back from her holiday. Maybe she has taken a trip to Blackpool. You see you have quite a fan club, and I am one who over my breakfast tea, always checks you out to see, what offering you bring to poetry.(that rhymed, can't help myself sometimes). In the meantime my advice, recycle all you've done before, or pick a line and let your mind run away with you and divide into tributaries and then streams. That works for me. Love your poetry Neville.

You see my friend, something came after all, maybe not those ones which are stuck in the throat, but something came after all :)

Yes, we can relate to what You say, experience it, personally, since my English is my second language, I even get stuck more when I want a certain word or expression and I can't find it, I tell You, it can be very furstruating and becomes tiring many times.
