Loss is difficult to deal with. I have found the death and dying of a loved one often brings the others, dearly loved and departed back. It's the way the spirit world works. And every loss you suffer, a part of you goes with them. Well worth another visit Neville two years down the line.

The ache remains, but gets softer. Time is not as kind. It speeds by:)

Each loss seems to toughen up that wall we build around ourselves for protection . . . becuz sometimes we reach critical mass & a series of losses might tip us into a swirling grief that threatens to wipe away one's own well-being for a bit. Your poem shows this vicious cycle of grief in a poignant way (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie

How darn true...many sweet thank you's Margie.. NUG's on their way.... Neville
This poem came with quite a punch, but it is one we all need to heed. Death is a most common thing in this world, yet one we find so hard to take. When someone dies, not only does that person go, but also all that we associate with him/her. That 'fragment' that dies is hard to replace, but, perhaps, we feel alittle stronger, and more able to cope? Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank you considering these words my friend tis very much appreciated....... Neville
This touches a chord Neville. Plucks at the heart strings well and truly. Each time one of my close loved ones has died (and there have been 6, apart from friends) I feel as though they have taken part of me with them. I understand what you are saying here. As your Father was dying, it evoked memories of another, you loved. Goodbyes always so difficult, but thankfully they live on in our memories. Very touching lines you have written here. Felt a tear coming

Bless you Chris and bang on the button dear friend.... N
When someone you love dies, a part of you goes with that person. It's a part that can never be without that person. You say you thought of someone as your father passed....perhaps a love that died and was never to be again? Not sure, but the emotions are strong here. Lydi**
