The Good Old Mary Elizabeth

The Good Old Mary Elizabeth

A Poem by Neville

The Good Old Mary Elizabeth

 She

Was clinker built

She was broad in the beam

She

Was Battleship Grey

 Burr walnut and cream

She

Sat on the water obscenely serene

Antique diesel engine and old gasoline

Now

There’s one hell of a tale crying out to be told

  About the good old

Mary Elizabeth
