The Shelter

Slowly you appear

and sit before me

Like a Buddha

or like some other

idol beggar

 

And although

your body

 gave some shelter

 

It was not the perfect

 draught excluder

You felt more like

some old umbrella

I am pleased

 

I never stayed too long
