Bulgaria an IntroductionA Poem by NevilleAn introduction for those who may be interested
Firstly, I feel a genuine need to emphasise just how incredibly surprised I am that so many known friends here and others too, that only occasionally, or frequently visit the Cafe here have shown such an interest in my Bulgaria which is essentially my second home....
I can only assume this is due to to my recent reference to Prolet, or Spring.... Nothing else I have to offer could possibly be so enticing.... Honestly, I never expected such a response at all, the sheer number of private messages to date prevents me making immediate personal responses, hence this more global one and which I surely hope you all shall see ... For what it's worth, none of my poems at least those to date have generated such an incredible response...sighs me..... For that reason, I have penned this swift introduction to what is essentially in my opinion one of the most underestimated, understated and misunderstood countries I have yet had the pleasure of visiting and....me being such a privileged gent, have thus far visited many...... For starters then....Bulgaria has four distinct seasons... Prolet is as I have already tried to paint, almost perfect, lush, vibrant and green... Laito or summer is bloody hot or at least it can be.... High factor sun block is essential but with care, you can develop an incredible tan.... My daughter Rebecca Adele Shorin Pettitt can attest to that... Essen can be a bit windy but is mostly dry with a few amazing thunder storms, well worth the watch... Zimmer, or winter can be so cold you would not believe.... Wildlife is abundant and we enjoy one of the most incredible ranges of combined native and migrant species of bird life on our planet.... Having said that, I am of course assuming you currently live on planet Earth..... Much of this beautiful country is as yet un-spoilt by us humans and since we entered the EU on January 1st 2007 bang on the stroke of midnight, our roads or putya...have been transformed....Just take care tho, the Bulgarians tend to be crazy when they get behind the wheel..... Food is abundant and so amazing I have a job not to dribble as I type.....and here types a guy who has a son in the restaurant industry..... I guess everyone wants to know about prices... so here goes....At current 2018 rates... a family of four adult would probably struggle to spend ten English pounds each when dining in a great restaurant... including three courses wine, beer and coffee each, maybe pop or soda for the kids ..... Unbelievable innit...... For those interested in history.... Bulgaria is full of it.... Wanna buy a place... just consider owning about an English acre for around fifteen grand.......might need some doing up but hey... who cares.........Bulgaria currently has the lowest crime rate anywhere in Europe and I do sincerely mean as of today... that includes both Western and the old Eastern Europe many of us have come to love...... Must just add here, be careful when ya nod because here, it means exactly the opposite and could be a tad embarrassing..... and a shake of ya head means yes.... see what I mean.... In conclusion, If you truly are interested in learning more, about this slice of heaven, please feel free to contact me via my seemingly overflowing mailbox.....Za Mnogo Dobra Den one and all..... Neville... o... please note... this post will expire and subsequently disintegrate leaving no carbon footprint in precisely seven days or as we say here, sedem dens...... All Good Things, Neville
