Beating in The Sky

Beating in The Sky

A Poem by Neville
"

These words are for Neb who passed just a few months ago after a very short battle with the big C..... he was a fine man and a mate... these words are also for his family left behind... Neb was 53....

"

Beating in The Sky

He was a great Gamekeeper

Was our Neb

But now the big man’s gone

Who will raise the birds

Who shall feed the dogs

Who will tend the field

Who shall lead the flush

He was a game Gamekeeper

Was our Neb

But now the big man’s gone

Who will toe the line

Who shall beat about the bush

He was a great Gamekeeper

Was our Neb

A fine tribute and I liked the title very much. Sounds as though he was a thoroughly decent bloke who loved working the land. I'm sure he will be sadly missed. Good afternoon Neville.
