Living by Numbers

Living by Numbers

A Poem by Neville
"

Put kettle on luv....Tis a very English reflex in response to stress and strife...

Living by Numbers

Living by numbers

Loving to order

Dying by degree

Responding to colours

Cheating thy neighbour

So much for friction

Have another cup of tea

Living to order

Loving by numbers

Dying in colour

Responding to friction

So much for thy neighbour

Have another cup of tea

Living by colours

Loving by degree

Dying to order

Responding to friction

So much for thy neighbour

Have another cup of tea

Living with friction

Loving thy neighbour

Dying by numbers

Responding to favours

Yeah yeah yeah

Bla di bla di bla

Have another cup of tea

Many thanks sette for touching down and considering my little something else.... Neville
Life. It's all the same, it's somewhat different, we're all just hanging on and doing what we have to do until we're gone - you have your tea and I, have my coffee ...
Well played.

Living by numbers sounds like a mantra that encourages you to have a cup of tea. Any special brand?

Cheers M.........and good morning....... Neville
What did I get from these four stanzas, more or less saying the same, give or take a slight variation? Regardless of all the crap thrown at us, the monotony and boredom of everyday things, the trouble and strife, there's nothing like a cuppa. Kettles on Neville. I'll hold the milk and sugar. It is so very, very English and I am so very, very English and understand the need for that cuppa. Of course cryptic Neville, you may mean something else entirely.

You have an OCD style of wordplay. Sometimes your poems feel like word puzzles more than messages, so I'm searching for the pattern. And I understand the appeal of being anally retentive when it comes to arranging words, since I have a few obsessions in this area myself *wink! wink!* Such patterns are very soothing, better than a tranquilizer!
