You have your poetry

 

I have my pride

You have your jealousy

 

I have my wife and kids

You have your fantasies

 

I have my firm beliefs

You have your misconceptions

I have my memories

I have my scars

You display self inflicted wounds

 

When I have nothing left to lose

Author's Note

Based entirely on a short movie written and directed by my daughter Bex when she was studying for her first degree in cinematography.. the movie was called Loose Ties' and even if I say so myself, it was blooming good... N

This is a brilliant list of ways that we humans can often see divisive rhetoric where we are actually saying the same thing! This is exactly at the crux of how many people act as if there's a big divide . . . yet your words are chosen in a careful way, so that they can be both contrasting & parallel! my goodness Neville ... good on ya .. and on Bex ...i am a retired RN ..a fantastic field to go into ...many opportunities both on the vertical and horizontal planes ...Nursing is full of creative people ... lots of them involved in music of one sort or another ...saying my prayers for her successes and fulfillment ...

Whoa! You ain't got anythink here! There doesn't appear to be any common ground, so I guess it's got to be based on magnetic pull. You know opposites attract, and that can be strong. "I have my scars, You wear self inflicted scratches". That puzzles me. It doesn't sound very sympathetic in my opinion. Is this a bit love/dislike? That's what I am picking up here. A bit casual methinks.

And never the twain shall meet. When you cant even agree on which way is up, it invariably leads to both falling. Saying that however, I do know personally some couples who seem to thrive on insults and pointing out the others flaws. We are such a complex bunch :)
