Such an interesting little poem, that much could be written about. It was the Great British Escape that caught my eye first. My mind started to wander and I found myself thinking about the Great Escape and Steve McQueen, then I realised of course it wouldn't have been British because there would have been allies escaping too. Then I started to ponder on Great British Escapes and started thinking about those glossy brochures advertising short romantic breaks away. Back to Cliques and I confess when younger I was part of a work clique, but sort of grew out of it. My social circle now does not involve cliques in anyway. None of our friends know each other, and that's the way we like it. As to the internet, well I guess you could become part of a clique if you were considered worthy to join. Now there's a thought. I have to say I haven't a clue what you are writing about here, but thought I'd chuck my pennyworth in anyway and wait and see what everyone else makes of your words. Good afternoon Neville.

Yes I am interested too, thank you Chris and good afternoon
Neville.
In high school, since I had many natural advantages, I could have been part of any popular group. But I hated cliques. I always sought out the misfits. I love how you pair the two words "clique" and "cliche" which may be the most thought-provoking part of this for me. Like Chris, I don't really know what this is about, from your perspective . . . Great British escape doesn't conjure up anything for me . . . but I have always wanted to escape when any "clique" of popular people tried to lure me in! (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Deep my friend. Will have to consider this. In a nice way for a while. I will say for the nonce that it slips into my thought patterns quite smoothly. Its just that there is a lot going on with a relatively few words. Which when it comes down to it is the essence of all good poetry.
it seems even if we try not to we fall into cliques...in high school i hung out with one group...but as i aged...i tended to hang out with anyone regardless of what others thought of them.
a roamer i became...and i hate the snobbishness associated with cliques...especially the shunning of others----well said here.
universal enough for all of us to relate...
