I have pondered over these words for a couple of days. My inclination is that they are three separate statements and are not linked.

I saw puppies in the first, licking hands and knowing that if it was me I would be smitten. A slave to its love.

The second gave me an image of a flag, three colours in a flag flying proudly.

And the third to me says none of us is ever totally free.

That's where your very interesting lines took me Neville. Good afternoon.
