Echoes of sadness resound through these lines. Your final stanza, for someone to feel as though they are nothing, a no one, in a relationship, is surely a lonely place to be. In those circumstances, there are choices. Guilt is not easy to live with. Angels are very understanding.

There's so much guilt for every relationship that dies, literally and figuratively. The burden of guilt never lessens and only gets heavier with time. So its great to be able to, if only for a moment, let go of the load and breathe guilt-free. Like a wayfarer casting off his heavy load on a long trek and giving his tired shoulders a rest. Very relatable, sir.
