Another Golden Dawn

Another Golden Dawn

A Poem by Neville

Another Golden Dawn

Where did the mainland go

before the latest storm hit home

...

Horizon lights extinguished

each of them now forlorn and gone

...

Yet here we have another

golden dawn, just look at her now

...

Smiling down upon those of us

gathered upon this unforgiving shore

We need a poet to remind us how beautiful it is to wake up to 'another golden dawn. To see colour bright dancing on/off walls and window panes should surely slip us from bed into Life. Right or wrong, for good or not so good ~ that matters. Beauty's in the eye of the beholder and, whatever
lights the way.

There will always be storms, some far worse than others. The virus has brought one of the worse to the UK that we have known. There have been many, many deaths and sorrow will linger for many years to come. The aftermath won't be an easy ride. However, the turning point has come, those in isolation, separated from the mainland, will now have the opportunity to participate in life again. The roll out of the vaccine is here and next year there will be more golden dawns when so many of us do not have to live in fear of death.

Multi layered poem Neville, , other meanings, but the virus is the one that hurts all of us most of all.

Your fine poem is enigmatic Neville. Where and when but we supply our own answers. Cast on a perilous shore we all need the golden dawn. I like when the reader can take some ownership of the poem. It comes from the poets skill.
Hope all is well. I've just had two weeks in hospital but back on an even keel now.
Cheers Alan

This complexities of living in a fallen but still beautiful world. Sometimes it seems like the world inside us has ended...but the world outside keeps going on and on.

the sun shines brightly, but it is a weary light for so many who are suffering right now.
the Callous rains have already fallen...and life is soaked in their blood.

Appreciating the beauty in such a barren landscape of late, we can be grateful for the gentle reminders that the world is still spinning and normality resumes, despite no longer quite knowing what normality is any more.
The horizon is still there mate, its just following social distancing protocols and took a few thousand steps back.
It will be clearer one day, fingers knees toes and elbows crossed.
