Goodbye means for me an end, a closed chapter which you can't reopen even if your desire is burning your mind and soul. if you try, you are going to give up because it'll consume until the last drop of humanity. Just a kiss goodbye is never as smile as it sounds. Goodbye always seems so final to me. A never returning or not for a long time.

I rarely use the word goodbye or even bye. Usually I say talk to you later or something similar
