Cathedral Bells

Cathedral Bells

A Poem by Neville

Cathedral Bells

Listen to the peeling of those cathedral bells

and to the sound of children playing

Somewhere in the distance

a token Gregorian chant was plainly heard

While a single cello strained to the fragile rhythm

and hypocrisy of all those sinners praying

Don't you just love how the sinners band together preaching what they don't follow. Its a load of poppycock! And the kids are the victims as those perverted priests indulge themselves on those who can't speak in fear of retribution. Makes you sick to the stomach. Forget the book of Hoo Haa I want to be Karma! Good write Sir.

Hypocritical ways of sinners praying. I believe a church should be a hospital for a sinner’s soul but many times we find that there is much judgement and people acting self righteous within those walls.

I believe in God and Jesus but I do not attend a church. I don’t like the politics that are often found within those groups. I try to be a decent person but I will admit I fall short many time of the way a Christian should act/behave.

Thought provoking piece you have written here. It has made me think and reflect.

............. am lost for
The sad part. We remember the bad deeds of a few over the good of many. When I served in the Army. We would fly on helicopters to hidden away places with water, food and medical team. Nuns would be living in deep forest and desert, taking care of the needy. They were angels. We live in a world where, if we don't understand something. Kill it. The Romans try to kill off England because their religion was different. I try to see above the bad deeds of the bad people. Thank you Neville for sharing your powerful words and thoughts.

I enjoyed this poem, Neville, it's thought provoking and holds much truth. In my youth I was an alter boy at a local catholic church. So almost every Sunday I saw many a hypocrite praying for forgiveness for sins they were assuredly going to commit again. If not worse. Places can hold a sacred hallowness to them but people not so much so. We are fallible creatures it is part of human nature.

dearest Neville... an amazing poem that touches the
hypocrisy of the times... still there are the peels of
sacred chimes... be still my heart and smile with the lavender rays of sunrise
and the thunder in the sky when we wonder why the evening shades of despair
will not fade with the setting sun when Jerusalem is in peril of Kingdom come...
Be blessed and safe as you linger on the breast of heavenly Rest... tenderly, Pat
