I had to search for the word "Limerence" to understand your poem. Relationships at many times are tests, we throw our flaws, fears, insecurities into them. And many of them are of the codependence type, it's not a problem, the problem comes when the source of this codependente relationship is only a "need". It means addiction. when realizing this, better to stop it because it won't do good for neither sides.

love that hook of a title sir .. great word for the day for me. how am i ever going to use it ten times in conversation today???? a friend of mine who fancies himself a connoisseur of sorts, brought me three six pacs of various craft brews ..... AND ... his 2 gal. beer making kit with bottles and enough ingredients for three batches ... he says he has developed gout and that beer is not so good for it so he quit drinking ... Holy Toledo ... just when i was beginning to think maybe i should give up my beer a day habit ... life seems to have given me a boon ... and "obscurity" a fine possible goal :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) you have a great way with words sir .."Limerence" tho a formula for a perfect storm ... gives me a chuckle at the end ... really enjoyed reading sir! peace and love and joy!

ah' good to hear .. sounds like you had a bit of a windfall .. unfortunately, I have gout too and it aint no laughing matter I can tell ya .. Had been planning to start making my own apple cider .. bought an old press and all the kit but have decidered (lol) to postpone till next years crop .. A most welcome visit Gene and so appreciated ..
I wonder, have you ever been a victim of it too .. I have twice to date and though at first it can be something of a novelty .. at the end of the day .. gout is marginally less painful and more preferable .. Neville :))))

oh yes ... limerence has struck and taken its toll more than twice in my journey .. the first time was in about 6th or 7th grade ... Ms. Rosemary Scott sent me for a loop. I bought a bottle of "invisible ink" and wrote her a love letter. She asked me if I had written it and of course I denied it. ... a Don Juan I never have been ... it was a harmless experience that gained momentum the older I got ... infatuation unrequited is no fun .. and tho I have never had gout, Norma did .. and seeing the pain it caused her ... I got just a glimmer of its severity ... as for limerence .. I believe I am in agreement with you and would choose gout instead .. luv on ya bro! peace and joy!

I like this piece, although I'm not by nature a drinking man I can relate to these words. Many a time at the end of a relationship I have felt the need for a good reflective drink to bring clarity to how ignorant I was to fall in love all over again. The next beers on me! Thank you my friend for putting into words what I have often felt about the ending of love.
